Carrying on the Legacy of Bonfire

This video pays tribute to Jerry Ebanks, whose unwavering dedication to BUILD at Texas A&M University exemplified the Aggie Spirit of unity, service, and remembrance. Jerry first became involved with BUILD to honor his son, Stephen Ebanks who was one of the twelve Aggies tragically lost in the 1999 Bonfire collapse. In doing so, he became a mentor, friend, and driving force behind our mission.

Through Jerry’s tireless efforts, generations of students were inspired to turn forty foot shipping containers into life-saving medical clinics, extending hope to communities in need around the world. We honor not only the memory of his son but also Jerry’s powerful legacy — a reminder that the spirit of Bonfire lives on through service that transcends borders.
